Elevation 27 rises 27 feet above sea level in Virginia Beach’s buzzing Hilltop neighborhood, built on the same ground that once housed local legends like Steppin’ Out, The Jewish Mother, and Eagle’s Nest. The tradition of great live music didn’t leave. It just got louder. From national touring artists to the best bands coming out of the 757, Elevation 27 is built for the live music experience.
Proudly independently owned and operated, Elevation 27 is also a member of the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), joining a nationwide network of independent venues dedicated to preserving and strengthening the live music industry.
A floating stage, expansive open floor, and an acoustically tuned room combine with what many consider Virginia’s best sound system to deliver shows exactly the way they’re were meant to be heard. Up front, it’s all about the crowd and the stage. Around the edges, you’ll find banquettes, tables, and a covered patio. Spaces to grab a drink, catch up with friends, and still stay connected to the music.

The National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) was founded in March of 2020, at the onset of global pandemic closures that jeopardized the future of independent venues, promoters, festivals, and performing arts centers. In 2023, NIVA expanded its focus from preserving and protecting the industry to cultivating and elevating the sector through national advocacy, marketing, and collective action to advance the entire independent live entertainment industry.
